Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall ignite the screen in this classic film noir adaptation of Raymond Chandler's steamy detective novel.
When private investigator Philip Marlowe accepts the blackmail case of one of Los Angeles' wealthiest men, his probe leads deep into a web of lies, drugs, adult entertainment and murder woven around his client's family.
But perhaps Marlowe's most startling discovery is his inexorable attraction to Vivian – his client’s oldest daughter.
The Big Sleep screens as part of Film Course: Film Theory in Conversation. More classics starring Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogrart screen at HOME throughout November and December – further info coming soon.
