Three New York models - Schatze, Pola and Loco - set themselves up in an exclusive apartment with a plan. Tired of cheap men and a lack of money, they intend to use their charms to bag themselves millionaire husbands.

The trouble is that it's not so easy to tell the rich men from the con artists. And, worst of all, there's the risk that they might even end up finding true love along the way.

Best known for her dramatic roles and performances in film noirs, in How to Marry a Millionaire Lauren Bacall proved that her iconic screen persona was equally suited to comedy with just a few minor tweaks. Here, her familiar gravitas and strong-willed independence are perfectly suited to the role of Schatze – the worldly ringleader to the naive Pola (Marilyn Monroe) and Loco (Betty Grable), who specialises in steely glamour and deadpan hilarity.
