Unspoken feelings and moments of desire

You can see this artwork in HOME Arches Windows on Whitworth Street West.

This piece belongs to a wider series called ‘Desire Me.’ It aims to translate unspoken feelings and moments of desire that occur between us.

The focus is on longing, on reaching out and on instances of hopeful touch that happen in the early stages of a relationship. It seeks to capture the essence of sensations you get in your stomach that are so hard to verbalise, but that we all know and feel.”

Artist Bio:

Kate Partington’s practice explores the subtleties of touch, connection, and the spaces that exist between bodies.

She is a mixed media artist working across analogue and digital spaces, constructing images that hover between materiality and emotion.

Her work examines how intimacy can be both tender and elusive, how connection can be felt rather than seen.

Influenced by the Surrealist movement and notions of the sublime, Kate’s compositions create dreamlike spaces where physical and emotional boundaries blur. Each collage is an exploration of intangibility; a moment caught mid-gesture, an atmosphere held between reach and retreat.
