African storytelling, drumming, dance and song

Afrocats Family Storytime is an interactive workshop that brings parents and children together through African storytelling, drumming, dance, and singing.

This workshop is designed to create a shared experience where families connect, communicate, and learn from each other in a fun and supportive environment. By encouraging participation from both parents and children, facilitator Owen helps build confidence, strengthen relationships, and foster a sense of community within the group.

Each workshop is tailored to the needs of the participants, creating a space where creativity, cultural expression, and togetherness can thrive.

About Afrocats

Afrocats are a Black and female-led charity working closely with local communities throughout the city to break down barriers, raise aspirations, and inspire the next generation of women and young people.

They work alongside Manchester's communities to create opportunities for people facing challenges in their lives, supporting them to feel connected, confident, and able to take part fully in society.

They are passionate about breaking down social, economic, cultural and language barriers so that everyone has the chance to live fuller, healthier, and happier lives.
