Event/ This screening will feature a recorded introduction by Pamela Hutchinson – critic, film historian and author of The Curse of Queen Kelly.

With a production story almost as dramatic as its plot, this lavish masterpiece of the late silent era is one of the most infamous unfinished films in cinema history. Now, Erich von Stroheim's Queen Kelly can be experienced in its most complete and spectacular form to date – thanks to this vital new reconstruction from Milestone Films, which features a new score by Eli Denson.

In the imaginary European country of Cobourg-Nassau, a reckless prince falls in love with a young woman – played by iconic Hollywood diva Gloria Swanson – who is studying at a convent. But the couple's connection draws the ire of the prince's wife-to-be; a vain and cruel queen whose jealousy wreaks havoc on the young lovers' lives.
