A family-friendly dance spectacle for the winter season

Mika and the Polar Bear is an original new work created by Coalesce Dance Theatre in association with Theatre Porto. The show is an imaginative, dance-theatre production for all ages, with a beautiful friendship between a child and a polar bear at its heart.

Featuring incredible animal puppetry, mesmerising projection and visual storytelling, Mika and the Polar Bear is a delight for audiences of all ages. This accessible, non-verbal, dance-theatre production tells the story of Mika who, lost in a storm, has to travel across land, sea and sky, meeting surprising animal helpers along the way, including a lone Polar Bear living in an icy wonderland.

Together, Mika and the Polar Bear playfully navigate an uncertain and changing environment as they find their way home.

Age recommendation: Ideal for ages 4 – 11 and their families

Running time: 50 minutes (no interval)

Special effects: Loud music, lights that change in brightness and colour, and a snow machine that is used on stage at the end of the production
