Artists shared their experiences with openness, honesty and generosity, helping us build a richer picture of what meaningful artist development needs to look like now.
Those conversations have been invaluable. They have helped us understand not only what is working well, but also where clearer pathways, better access to space, stronger networks and sustained investment are needed.
What We Heard
What came through most strongly was a real affection for HOME, and a shared belief in what it can offer artists across Greater Manchester.
Artists spoke about HOME as an inclusive place that understands creative development, welcomes people at different points in their careers, and gives them room to experiment, connect and grow.
Artists described HOME as a place to experiment, connect, collaborate and grow.
At the same time, artists were clear about what needs to happen next: continued investment in people, paid and meaningful opportunities, stronger progression routes, and the protection of spaces like HOME Arches, where creativity, collaboration and community can flourish.
What's Next?
We are now using what we have heard to refine and strengthen our artist development offer, with a focus on creating support that is relevant, practical and genuinely impactful.
