Material-led residencies for artsits - Coming Soon
Opportunities coming soon
Two new collaborative residency opportunities for Greater Manchester artists who are seeking to expand their practice in a new direction, and to develop through material investigation with other artists.
Selected through open call, and for artists at different stages in their careers, these residencies will include dedicated studio time, technical and curatorial support, a masterclass, materials and engagement with HOME's Young Visual Arts Studio.
Based in HOME Arches, our dedicated space for artist development, one residency opportunity will be broadly shaped around textiles and the other around organic material, with both categories open to broad and creative definitions.
Through these new residencies, artists will:
- Have dedicated time, space and resources to experiment and test.
- Be part of a cohort of local artists, connecting and accessing peer learning across different stages of practice.
- Investigate the conditions that make material experimentation possible.
- Explore the extent and boundaries of what a material is, and what can be used as material for artworks.
