Pen:Chant PUSH 2018

After toiling down the art mines, tapping the seams of spoken word, comedy, live music, contemporary performance and everything in between, Pen:Chant return back to HOME for a PUSH special, presenting a line-up drawn from the best talent that the North West has to offer.

Hosted by award-winning writer and performer Ben Mellor. Open mic spots available, please contact info@penchant.org.uk to book a slot.

The line-up includes:

** Manchester’s soulful chanteuse Josephine Oniyama!**
Josephine’s debut album, Portrait, was lauded by the likes of the Sunday Times, Mojo, Q and Uncut. She has appeared on Later…with Jools Holland, toured the UK and Europe extensively and played numerous festivals including Glastonbury, Latitude and T In The Park. Following recent collaborations and touring with both Travis and Matthew Halsall she has recently released the first piece of new music from her forthcoming album, Til You, through Sound of Solar Records.

“An extraordinary talent” – Q

** Lyrical, laugh-out-loud stand-up poet Dave Viney! **
A multiple slam winner and regular guest at poetry nights and festivals across the UK, Dave has written and performed for BBC Manchester Radio, written and performed two sell out shows at The Lowry as part of the Working Verse Collective, was the 2013 Poet Laureate of Kendal Calling Festival, debuted his one man spoken word show Shapes at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2014 and released his debut collection A Poet Called Dave in 2015 with Flapjack Press.

**Glitter-mouthed, charmingly vicious stand-up comic Jonathan Mayor!**
Jonathan Mayor, former Duchess of Argyll, international bake wear supermodel and the forgotten love-child of Queen Latifa and Ronnie Corbett, is better known in his persona as super-psychic jewel assessor to the Sultanate of Burundi (and friends).  You might know him from that orgy your husband denied being at before the divorce. and Hollyoaks.

“Pen:Chant makes for an exciting night of different artforms… There’s something for everyone to discover and enjoy” – The Reviews Hub
